Do I need a license to operate the boat?

No license if required to operate our boats and full training is given to all our customers - All included in the price you pay.

Can I take pets on board the boats?

Most of our boats accommodate pets at an additional cost. Please check out the booking form for the boat you are interested in to see the policy on pets.Canal Boat Holidays and Pets

Is there car parking at the locations?

Yes, there is free car parking at all our locations. If you are bringing more than 1 car, you will need to check with the marina first.

Can I fish?

Fishing is allowed on the Canals at any time of year, but a Rod Licence is required - you can get a 1 day, 8 day, or annual licence from the post office, or Online at the Environment website: www.environment-agency.gov.uk

Where can with stop with the canal boat?

You can moor anywhere along the canal where it is safe to do so and there are no signs prohibiting this ie : permanent mooring/private moorings. It is advised to moor adjacent to the towpath for easy access. Mooring pegs are provided on the boat if there are no tie off points. You also have the option of mooring in a marina if they offer vistor moorings. There may be a small charge for this.Stopping on a Canal Boat Holiday

I've never operated a canal boat before

Do not worry if you have never operated a canal boat before. It is very easy with only 1 forward and 1 reverse gear. The boats are very slow moving at 3mph maximum. We give you tuition for both boat and locks on the day of your travel and it's all included for free.

How much headroom is there in a canal boat.

Typically the headroom is 6 foot 3 inches.

Do you provide life jackets?

Our dedicated engineering team are on hand twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week for emergencies. Your safety and enjoyment are our paramount concern.
